Positioning

The one sentence about who the product is for, what it replaces, and why that audience would switch. Everything in outbound quotes it.

Positioning is a decision, not a tagline: which market you are in, which alternative you are compared against, and which buyer you are optimising for. A product can be positioned as "the CRM for agencies" or "the lightweight alternative to Salesforce" and both can be true; only one of them makes a specific person reply.

Outbound copy that does not land is very often positioning that was never decided. The writer is guessing, so the reader has to guess too.
