Tool · Lead Sourcing Masterclass, Module 2

The 5 R's scorecard

Five questions that tell you whether a source is worth an afternoon, in about sixty seconds. Ask them before you spend the afternoon, not after.

The blank card

The worksheet. Print it, or keep it open while you score. Half points allowed.

Printing it? first, it is kinder to your ink.

Score your own source

Name a source you use, answer the five, and the card fills in as you go.

    0 / 5

    Scored live: the database

The thing you're already using. It aces the least important one.

    Scored live: competitor reviewers

Same amount of effort as running a filter. Three and a half more R's.

    The two, side by side

This is the frame worth clipping. The asymmetry does the arguing.

Most good sources land on three or four

Not everything has to score five. What you're looking to avoid is the ones that score one, because those are the ones that eat your Tuesday and give you nothing back. Module 2 scores two of them live and shows you why the answer is never the tool.
